The majority of our Christian community either does not know what is available for it to do or DOES NOT consider it important enough for action.

The true Church, in America, is a sleeping giant. Apathy is a plague among us and it is slowly robbing us of precious time and vision.

Jesus spoke over nineteen hundred years ago and declared, “The fields are white and ready for harvest, but the laborers are few.” This statement was and is an informative one. It does not need interpretation. THE HARVEST IS READY TO BE GATHERED IN, BUT WE NEED MORE LABORERS.

Immediately Jesus instructs His followers (which includes you and me) to PRAY, and prayer gets results! James writes, “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.” (James 5:16)

The Message Bible translation puts it like this; “The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.” The next verse gives us an excellent example, “Elijah for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it shouldn’t rain, and it didn’t - not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would and IT DID. ”

Can you pray? Of course you can! Are you living right with God? (This is a question only you can answer.) If you are, then you have every right to expect results when you pray. Jesus said, “When you pray, believe that you receive and you shall have it.” (Mark 11:24)

However, if you aren’t living right, your prayers will not be answered. Generally, when Christians stop praying it is because they have stopped living right. Should this be your case or that of some Christian close to you, repentance is the only way to correct the problem. May I suggest immediate and genuine repentance? Just saying, “I’m sorry and I’ll try to do better,” is NOT repentance.

All followers of Jesus must live right for prayers to be powerfully effective. Now is the time for a tidal wave of prayer. Prayer at home, on the job and at special called prayer meetings is the order of the day. Why?

We are surrounded by souls and they are ready to be brought into the kingdom of God. However, the laborers are few, so we must pray the Lord of the Harvest send additional laborers into the fields.

This statement of our Lord is not in reference to more apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors or teachers. It is referring to every Christian becoming active in the work of the Lord. Read carefully the following statement from Ephesians 4:11-16. “He (Jesus) handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher to train Christians in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s Body, the Church.” Message Bible translation.

Work of the ministry, which is basic soul winning, is done outside the church by Christian believers. The church building is the training center where those, called into the offices of the ministry of Jesus, disciple the young converts and train others to become LABORERS IN THE HARVEST.

So, you and I have THINGS TO DO and they are of utmost importance.

Together we will pray fervently for the whitened harvest fields to be harvested. Other ministers and I will help train you and other believers to do the work of the ministry, wherever you are. GOD will see to it that we have great success and the harvest will be plenteous, HALLELUJAH!

You perhaps are thinking, “WOW! We have to get busy.” You are right, but it is the greatest business opportunity on Earth.
