"Support For The Gospel"

Across the board, income for ministries
has dropped. The decline began during the year 2000 and dipped
more sharply after the September 11th terrorist strike. This
far in this New Year, ministries are not reporting increase
in their financial statements. Without proper financial support
ministries are hindered in the process of carrying out the
vision God has given them.
When the going forth of ministry is hindered,
Satan is succeeding. The only way this can possibly happen
is for God's people to fail in their giving. God has chosen
to supply for His work through tithes and offerings from His
children. The tithe, a tenth, belongs to our Father and can
never be considered a personal possession. An offering comes
from one's personal funds, and is in excess of the tithe.
The ministry in which I serve is the ministry
of Jesus. His ministry was broad and multifaceted. To fulfill
His ministry today requires Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists,
Pastors, and Teachers. All must be financially underwritten
by those who have chosen to follow Jesus.
God states in Malachi 3:6 and James 1:17
that He does not change. So, it remains His perfect plan that
the believing community financially support God's ministry.
Here are some startling facts: Research
reveals that approximately only one-seventh of the Christian
community tithes. Six-sevenths of God's people fall under the
curse through their disobedience. Read carefully the 28th Chapter
of Deuteronomy.
Did God mean what lie said when He stated
He would "OPEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN and POUR OUT BLESSINGS
and REBUKE THE DEVOURER" for those who tithe and give
offerings? The answer is YES, and He has kept His Word for
those who have been obedient (Malachi 3:10-11).
Another interesting but sad state of affairs
is that only 15% of the Christian community read and study
the Bible. With so little intake of the Word it is no wonder
Christians lack motivation. The Bible is the greatest motivational
book in the world. To neglect the study of the scriptures is
to neglect one's spiritual life.
Are you ready for one more startling fact?
Prayer, once a vital daily part of a Christian's life has become
almost a thing of the past. We are much too busy with mundane
matters. The cares of life, deceitfulness of riches and lust
for things, has choked the Word and made it unfruitful. In
the biblical account of Jesus with Mary and Martha, Martha
was the one careful and troubled about many things. She had
very little quality time with the Master.
I have addressed three serious matters within
our camp: giving, studying the Word, and prayer. All take commitment
and discipline.
I trust these words have spoken to your heart. Believe that you can increase
your giving, study more diligently and truly develop a prayer life. I can assure
you, if you do these things, you will have QUALITY TIME with the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit. A devout relationship with our Father, our Savior, and the
Holy Spirit is far more valuable than houses and lands, or silver and gold.
I am praying for your success and spiritual
maturity. |
