An Excerpt from “The Antichrist”
A new book by Hilton Sutton Th.D.
Taken from “End Time Update” Summer 2003
Nothing has created more of a stir of discussion in recent
times than the discussion of the future events, and in particular, the Antichrist.
It was my good fortune to practically be raised in the church. Both my grandfather
and father were ministers. When I was seven, I first heard the term Antichrist.
Then I began to hear more and more things said about him. I later was to learn
that much of what was said was not always Biblically sound. But it was the
opinion and the ideas of theologians of their time; and the generation before
them. From a very, careful study of the Word of God, we can learn the absolute
truth about the Antichrist; and never again be caught up in speculation or
in fear.
With the help and authority of the scriptures, not someone's theology or the
speculation of so-called experts, we want to discover the exact Biblical identity
and characteristics of the Antichrist. Therefore, we must avoid individual
doctrines, individual views or individual revelations from God. We must depend
upon exactly what the Word of God says about this important subject matter.
The subject of this book is the Antichrist. There is much information concerning
the one who becomes the Antichrist. We will focus on him directly from the
scripture.
This has been a major subject within the church for many years and, quite often,
misunderstood.
Drawing information only from God's Word, one has an accurate picture of the
Antichrist. Understanding his satanic assignment and the time allotted to him
becomes clear. One learns he utterly fails to carry out his evil assignment.
Please read every word very carefully and then go back through this book again
and again until this material becomes yours. Your friends and family will be
amazed at your knowledge when you share these truths.
Reading carefully, you will discover many of your questions about the Antichrist
are going to be answered. Also, some things you may have been taught by well-meaning
people were not Biblically correct. You will discover how to correct them by
the we of God's Word, the Bible.
Let's begin with a statement of our Lord Jesus in Matthew 24:4, "...Take
heed that no one deceives you." The Apostle Paul also addresses deception
in II Thessalonians 2:3 NKJ where he writes, "Let no one deceive you by
any means..." This is a more detailed statement than the one made by Jesus
in Matthew 24. Take a close look at Paul's statement because he is dealing
with the revealing of the Antichrist. His statement is in perfect harmony with
that of Jesus; guarding oneself against being deceived. The Holy Scriptures,
if studied and accepted, serve to inoculate one against deception.
" Let no one deceive you by any means" - not by their personality,
their oratorical ability, their use of scripture taken out of context, or their
ability to perform what appears to be signs and wonders. Paul points out that
the works of the Antichrist and the False Prophet are lying miracles, lying wonders;
therefore, they are designed to be extremely deceptive.
"The coming of the lawless one is according to the
working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,"
II Thessalonians 2:9 NKJ |
