Dear Fellow Believer,

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord, be with you always.

A new year has begun in perilous times. Here is what the Holy Spirit is revealing about the New Year 2008. “2008 is going to be a great year for the believers, who are practicing their faith, but not without intense spiritual battles.”

A return to recognizing the leadership and help of the Holy Spirit will guarantee awesome anointing and major victories. However, without the Holy Spirit, 2008 will be a difficult and disappointing year for the believer, who will have no one to blame but himself.

2008 must be a year of drawing closer to God, rather than attempting to survive spiritually on an occasional spiritual surge. Here is an example: When electrical power is not consistent and there are only surges, lights blink and vital electronic equipment fails to function properly. This year must be a year of spiritual revival, fresh anointing, divine restoration, and of storming the very gates of hell.

James exhorts, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. James 4.8 NKJV Notice that James is writing to the believers of the early church, not to those who were yet to be saved.

We used to sing a wonderful old hymn entitled, “I am thine, O Lord” written by Fanny Crosby and W. H. Doane in 1875, which contained these words,

“I am thine O Lord, I have heard thy voice, and it told thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith and be closer drawn to thee.
Consecrate me now to thy service Lord, by the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a stead-fast hope and my will be lost in thine.
Oh, the pure delight of a single hour that before thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer and with thee my God, I commune as friend with friend!
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord to the cross where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord, to thy precious bleeding side.”

These three verses and the chorus are all about consecration and dedication...qualities that only a few of our people demonstrate and enjoy.

Jesus said, “... I will build MY church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16.18 NKJV This prophetic statement by our Lord tells me His church is going to storm the gates of hell, releasing the captives and turning many to righteousness.

We, the body of Christ, prior to storming the gates of hell, must allow the Holy Spirit to cause us to become a living image of Jesus. For such to come about we must desire it
and choose to become mature, holy, and godly. We must no longer be worldly Christians! We must be sanctified and motivated by the Word; full of and constrained by the Holy Spirit.

2008 will be a year of DIVINE AWAKENING for those in the church who hunger for and press toward a deeper spiritual life. The more fellowship one has with the Holy Spirit, the more like Jesus he or she will become. Because a mature Christian is not yet glorified, he or she will fight the fight of faith. One will be confronted with the appetites of the flesh, the temptations and trials of life, plus the direct opposition of Satan. These battles of spiritual warfare MUST BE WON or we will succumb and live carnally in defeat.
God forbid!

God wants His children, the body of Christ, to live a consistently victorious life in bringing many into His family. LET’S NOT WAIT, GET STARTED NOW!

Keep these things in mind as the New Year progresses:
• GOD’S ARMOR IS YOURS (Ephesians 6.10-17)
• WEAPONS, MIGHTY IN GOD AWAIT YOUR USE (2 Cor.10.4-5)
• GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD (1 John 4:4)
• YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST(Phil.4:13)
• YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM WHO LOVES YOU (Roman 8:37)

The battles of spiritual warfare are increasing because Satan knows time is running out. JESUS IS COMING! MAKE 2008 COUNT TO GOD’S GLORY. Do it day by day.
