Dear Friend,

How great is our God! How vast is His love! How awesome is His mercy! His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. However, we have His Word and the Holy Spirit as our daily sources for spiritual growth, understanding and productivity.

Intense spiritual warfare has erupted around the world. It is a battle between love and hate! Our Father God is the source of love; while fallen Lucifer
(known as the devil and Satan) is the source of hate. Satan hates God, the Word, and Israel. Jeremiah 24:6 states, “For I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.” Amos 9:15 states, “I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 17:6 and 19:15 plus Matthew 18:16 and II Corinthians 13:1 confirm that “In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” Jeremiah and Amos, spokesman for God, declare God has begun His restoration of Israel and it can not be stopped. The opposing forces will not succeed.

In the 6th Century a child was born named Mohammed. As he grew to manhood it is evident that a major struggle raged within him. Love and hate were attempting to gain control of his life. His writings, the Koran, reveal this fight. After 9/11 and the destruction of the world trade towers and nearly 3,000 lives in New York City, I heard a learned man of God make this statement, “It is evident that Christians in Mohammed’s day missed an opportunity to win him to Jesus.” I believe him to be absolutely correct.

Mohammed’s writings and life reflect the above statement. He founded Islam which is powered by hate! The Koran reveals that unless you accept the religion of Islam you are an infidel and subject to execution unless you convert. History records the attempt by Mohammed and his followers to conquer the world. They failed! Now once again his followers have begun another plan of attack. The fanatical clerics, including the Ayatollah Khomeini, are leading this present upheaval.

Remember, the late Ayatollah Khomeini took over Iran in 1978 from Shaw Mohammed Pahlavi and since that time Iran has been a source of trouble. This is an extremely serious situation because the clerics believe themselves right and declare our nation to be the great Satan. Iran is now led by a young man who is convinced that Israel and all western influence, including our nation, must be destroyed. How did this terrible problem begin? The Bible explains in Genesis 16:6-12:

So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid is in your hand; do to her as you please.” And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her presence. Now the Angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” The Angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.” Then the Angel of the Lord said to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.” And the Angel of the Lord said to her: “Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the Lord has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, And every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”

Ishmael, son of Abraham by the Egyptian Hagar, is the origin of the problem. Notice the angel of the Lord declared he would be a wild man. His hand against every man and every man against him. He finds solace or comfort only among his kind. So it is to this very day. Recent terrorist activities and Arab demonstrations prove the accuracy of the Holy Scripture.

At this point I must inject the truth: God loves the descendants of Ishmael and Jesus died on the cross for them as well as all mankind. See John 3:16; II Peter 3:9. Isaiah 19:23-25 clearly places the descendants of Ishmael here during the 1000 year reign of our Lord. Evidently they have accepted Jesus and any who have not accepted him will worship Him according to Zechariah 14:16-19 which reads:

Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain. If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

Should they and other people never truly accept Jesus they will be the ones who follow Satan at the end of the millennium. Read Revelation 20:7-11

When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Here are the Biblical directives every born again Christian must accept; Number One: we must pray, in faith, for the peace of Jerusalem, Psalms 122:6. This is a Biblical instruction and not optional. We need concrete prayer of all Christians because we are involved in spiritual warfare. Number Two: We must believe for Holy Spirit conviction upon the Arab family.

Holy Spirit conviction is an act of God’s love. See John 16:7-11. It will take this conviction to begin to convince the Arabs that their religion is terribly flawed and they need Jesus. Number Three: you and I must be soul winners. Proverbs 11:30 states, “They that win souls are wise.” Daniel 12:3 echoes this truth. Christians must become soul winners and anticipate the salvation of many now under the influence of Islam.

So, here is the spiritual formula; Christians must pray, live right, share their testimony of Jesus, believe for Holy Spirit convictions and expect results. Isaiah 55:11 states, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” When Christians, you and I, do what we are told to do we should always expect results.

The present Mid East “Cease Fire” is temporary. Hezbollah was not defeated or destroyed. They live to fight another day. Israel did drive them further away from their northern border. Remember, Ezekiel 38:8 and 11 firmly states a peaceful era will come to Israel and the region, but only when the terrorists are utterly defeated.

So we have no alternative but to pray according to Psalms 122:6 and expect good results. We should pray that Osama bin Laden and all other terrorist leaders hiding places be revealed. They and the fanatical Islamic Clerics be stopped from continuing the awesome trouble for which they are responsible. Prayer is powerful! So is your testimony!
