Dear Friend,
God is Good, All the Time! How often do we hear this statement? It is True!
In last months ministry letter I called to your attention Paul’s statement in
II Timothy 3:1 – 5 concerning “Perilous Time.”
Notice Paul states, “In these Last Days will come perilous times of great stress and trouble.” This is a prophecy now being fulfilled. In fact, every facet of this prophecy is daily in the news.
Please, pick up your Bible and read slowly and carefully the above reference and realize the details of this prophecy are being fulfilled. “Jesus – COMING SOON!”
There is one part of this prophecy I am instructed, by the Holy Spirit, to emphasize in this letter. Here it is, “For although they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid all such people [turn away from them.]
We have been watching the decline in the anointing and gifts of the Holy Spirit in our ranks and other churches for years. Many of our major denominations have been powerless for decades. Membership and attendance is declining and only a form of Godliness remains.
The decline of the spiritual life of churches recognized as Pentecostal, Full Gospel, Charismatic, and Word of Faith has opened the door for “Seeker or User Friendly” type of churches. Generally these congregations either know nothing about the Power of God or they do not desire it. Paul has described them to the letter. The above circumstances are not yet apostasy but certainly describe those with “Itching Ears.”
Paul states in II Timothy 4:1 – 4; “For the time is coming when people will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching for something, pleasing and gratifying, they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, and will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man made fictions.”
I must be faithful to our Lord, His Word, and to you. I wrote to you early in the year, that I would keep on reminding you that, “Jesus is Coming.” We must not deny this fact either by word or deed. When prophecies, such as these of Paul, are so accurately being fulfilled and the evidence is all around, we must stir ourselves and daily walk uprightly before God and Man. No One, in their right mind, wants to miss the rapture and be left behind.
I am often asked this question, “What does it take to make the rapture?” The answer is Biblically simple: Walk and Talk with God, DAILY.
Genesis chapter five reveals that Enoch walked with God for Three Hundred (300) years and God took him. He bypassed death and went bodily to Heaven.
Hebrews 11:5 – 6 tells us Enoch pleased God. From these Bible references we place great importance on daily walking with our Lord and Heavenly Father.
Understand Enoch was neither born again or Spirit Baptized. He did not even have the printed Word for his daily help he simply did what God began with Adam and Eve. God came down from Heaven in the cool of the day and walked and talked with them. In doing so He established a principle of righteousness that continues to this day. It has never been superceded or rescinded. This rule of righteousness yet prevails and we, you and I, have help that Enoch did not have.
We are born again, Spirit Baptized, and have wonderful copies of the Word. The Holy Spirit is here as “our other helper.” We ought to do better than Enoch.
Walking with God daily will get you caught away. Being haphazard and inconsistent about one’s spiritual life can contribute to their missing the Rapture. Read for yourself the Laodicean Church letter in Revelation Chapter three. The lukewarm do not spend quality time with the Lord and apparently see no need in doing so.
Therefore, Jesus calls for them to repent or He will vomit them out of His mouth. Allow me, as a Senior Minister of the Gospel to encourage you to re-evaluate your spiritual life and make time to walk and talk with Jesus and Our Father, both ask this of us on a daily basis.
Remember, these are perilous time! Daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit and walking and talking with Jesus and our Heavenly Father will prevent peril from effecting you adversely. John is a wonderful example. Revelation 1:9, 10 describe a 90 plus year-old saint of God. He had been exiled to the island of Patmos, living in a cave, but did not allow his undesirable circumstances to have any effect on his spiritual life. Therefore his spiritual life prevented the storm around him from having any negative effect.
In the joy of serving Jesus,
