Dear Friend:
The Fall season has arrived and the leaves have changed color.
It is a marvelous time of the year and many families are already
making plans for the holidays. The holidays begin with THANKSGIVING.
Our nation was populated and founded by God-fearing, Christ-honoring
people who gave THANKS TO OUR LORD. Although they braved the unknown
to arrive on the East Coast and struggled to create a new life,
they survived. Our predecessors were praying folks who also accepted
biblical instructions. They are still an example for all Americans
today.
For this THANKSGIVING, I have a Psalm for you and your family.
It is the 26th Psalm.
“Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity;
I have [expectantly] trusted, leaned and relied on the Lord without
wavering, and I shall not slide. Examine me, O Lord, and prove
me; test my heart and my mind. For your loving-kindness is before
my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth [faithfully]. I do not
sit with false persons, nor fellowship with pretenders; I hate
the company of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked. I will
wash my hands in innocence, and go about Your altar, O Lord, that
I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and tell of all
Your wondrous works. Lord, I love the habitation of Your house,
and the place where Your glory dwells. Gather me not with sinners
and sweep me not away with them, nor my life with bloodthirsty
men, in whose hands is wickedness, and their right hand is full
of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in integrity; redeem me,
and be merciful and gracious to me. My foot stands on an even place;
in the congregations will I bless the Lord.” (Amplified
version)
Notice the role of integrity and thanksgiving in this Psalm. Because
David was walking in integrity (something many Christians seem
to have lost) he could, with THANKSGIVING, tell others of the wondrous
works of God.
Unless one has a faithful relationship of integrity with our Heavenly
Father, it is not likely that person will tell others of God’s
goodness and love.
Notice again in verse 7, the psalmist states, with THANKSGIVING
I will tell others. We need to be thankful; in fact, very thankful.
Psalm 95 declares, “O come let us sing to the Lord; let
us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our Salvation! Let us come
before His presence with THANKSGIVING; let us make a joyful noise
to Him with songs of PRAISE. ”
Daily, THANKSGIVING and PRAISES should roll out of our spirits
and be vocalized. We have everything for which to be thankful.
We used to sing an old hymn in our churches that encouraged us
to “COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS.” The words were something
like this: “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count
your blessings see what God has done.” Our blessings are
multiple and the benefits of knowing Jesus are almost endless.
Many Christians are simply thankful that they are not going to
Hell, but that’s just one of many benefits you and I should
never forget.
Take a fresh look at the 103rd Psalm. Let me encourage you to
read this Psalm from the Amplified Bible; it is awesomely wonderful.
God’s children must become the people who seek after and
follow God, our Father; Jesus, our Saviour, and God the Holy Ghost,
our Teacher and Guide. We must value the Holy Bible as our textbook
of righteousness. In fact, it is the only book of its kind in the
world.
The Holy Spirit informs me that there may be someone reading this
letter who doesn’t feel like they have much for which to
be thankful. The Holy Spirit instructs me to tell that person to
begin thanking our Heavenly Father for whatever you have. Surely
you have something for which to be THANKFUL. START NOW YOUR THANKSGIVING
and watch what will follow in your spirit and soul.
I want to thank God for our new international television outreach.
After the first week we had over 58,000 hits on our web site and
the majority were out of Asia.
This new facet of our outreach is providing me access to over
four billion of the earth’s population every Friday. Pray
with me that more and more people in EUROPE, ASIA, the MID-EAST,
AFRICA and the ORIENT will discover our program and accept our
Lord Jesus.
I thank God for you. I pray blessings upon you and yours. I’m
expecting every member of your family to be saved, including your
distant cousins.
This month’s ministry tape or CD is entitled, “THE
